netCUDA is a Credit Union Development Agency set up to help develop credit unions in Essex and the East London Boroughs.

netCUDA have been funded by the Community Fund for a period of three years, starting in late 2002 to provide help and support for existing credit unions in the area and to set up and support credit union development groups to cover those parts of the area that don't currently have credit unions. Our objective is to start 5 credit unions with a total of 5,500 members over the three years

netCUDA's other major task is to raise the awareness of credit unions at grass roots level throughout the area. Our target is to make 35,000 people directly aware of credit unions and to educate at least 10,000 in the benfits to them and to their communities.

Because lotery funding is not available directly to credit unions, we cannot use any of our funding to directly fund a credit union, so we have to give support by way of assistance from our field workers and by making centrally run services and initiatives available to credit unions and development groups.
